Listen in as Michelle and Karen discuss upcoming plans with Robin Riley

We’ve been having deep discussions about how our transportation systems can transport you further to your destinations.Β  We realize that there are gaps in our current systems which don’t allow you to, for example: get to Princeton if you live in Cambridge, or to Ogilvie if you live in Harris, or to Mora if you live in Milaca. These are just examples of just some of the gaps in transportation we know our region has. Traveling to the Twin Cities on our public service transportation systems is currently not possible. We are looking for ways to eliminate these gaps through Micro Hubs (transfer or destination stations) and we are also looking at utilizing vehicles that are underutilized (sharing vehicles). Another idea is to apply for a Live Well at Home grant in order to apply to purchase a shared ADA accessible van, used by volunteers to travel any distances.

If you would like to voice your opinion on the content of the interview or ask any questions, please feel free to do so on our Facebook page. In the near future, we will be asking for your input on a very short survey which will ask the question, “What destinations would you travel to, utilizing our public transportation systems that you’re not able to get to today?”

Please watch for this very important survey. We need to address the issues and we need to hear from YOU in order to verify the need.
